the great lakes

amy from my marigold makes wonderful embroidery pieces for her great lakes series. huron, superior, erie, ontario, michigan; she's got them all. here's a peek at her lake superior piece:

i recently commissioned amy to make a piece for my dad's birthday featuring little portage lake, where my parents have a place at a lakeside campground. last year i gave my dad a cross-stitch lake piece (featuring a pontoon boat!) for his birthday, and i thought a little portage lake embroidery piece would be a nice complementary touch!
