diego rivera & frida kahlo in detroit exhibit at the detroit institute of arts. they spent time creating in detroit from 1932-1933, and the exhibit was marvelously set up to focus on their art before detroit, during detroit, and after detroit. it was really fabulous! i felt strong emotion in learning more about the artists as they stayed in detroit that year and what they were going through as they created art. i loved seeing snippets of the detroit industry murals that are at the DIA, and it was really touching to see the process of creating them, and then go view the actual murals that i'd seen there many times before, but now in a whole new way.
viewing the exhibit itself and then spending the day with my crafty cohorts was all extremely inspiring. i really need to get to work on some new dang argyle stuff!
