dang coincidence

upon checking dangargyle's email inbox today i noticed a message in the spam folder with the subject line "Mr. E.T. Jorma." i just finished reading a book (he who fears the wolf, by karin fossum) where one of the main characters is named Errki Johrma. that is so random and bizarre. i mean, really.

the christmas garden

once upon time coco and manz got lost while leaving akureyri, iceland and they chanced upon a lovely place called the christmas garden. you could frolic and play in the gardens and browse around the store for traditional icelandic christmas treasures, including the yule lads. it was such an enchanting and magical place, and christmas day is a good day to look back at it.

yes, this is a christmas themed outhouse!

pipe pouch

a friend of mine commissioned me to make a pipe carrying case for him to give his friend for christmas. he requested something like what we usually do, but "more chappish." and i joked, "oh, so no owls." he then said that owls would work and mentioned something about a hat and a vest. so! we have an owl in a smoking vest, and it's roomy enough to hold the necessary pipe accessories.

flint city

today was the flint city handmade holiday craft market. it was pretty fun, despite the snowy drive. it snowed buckets all day! i was quite enamored with the ambiance and building quirks of the two below venues.

welcome, bloggers

dang argyle has jumped the livejournal ship, and floated off into the blogosphere of blogger blogs. who are we? we are manz and coco d'argyle, bffs who like to laugh, drink coffee, and make stuff. the story begins when coco aced a science test in 4th grade...

why dang argyle?

we like to bowl. we decided it would be fun and mandatory if people wore argyle socks while they bowled, to go with the ever-so-stylish bowling shoes. so our fake bowling team name became the argyles. also, when we bowl we like to be pirates. (and if pirates wore argyle socks they would be called arrrrrrrrrgyle socks!) one day we argyles were bowling and saying dang like it was going out of style, so we said "we're not the argyles, we're the dang argyles!" so here we are, a couple of bowling, argyle sock wearing pirates, who just happen to also sew and paint and hammer and cut. voila!
