tiny terrariums

tiny terrariums are the cutest things ever! made of moss, tiny things and big creativity. twig terrariums is brooklyn-based business that creates beautiful living sculptures out of their studio and shop.

the ann arbor district library will be holding a free workshop with the folks behind twig terrariums! the terrarium building workshop will be on sunday, july 27, so mark your calendars! there will also be books for sale and a book signing after the workshop. how cool is that?! free and awesome, thanks to your library.

peeping peonies

this past weekend it was the peak time to head to nichol's arboretum to check out the amazing peony garden. this magical garden features 27 beds holding 800 peonies with 10,0000 flowers at peak bloom. it's quite the site to see! if you've never been, you MUST put it on your calendar for next year. i had a fabulous time traipsing through the garden, searching for the fragrant ones and admiring the size and beauty of each and every flower. my favorites are still the large white ones.

yarn bomb the library

to celebrate international yarn bombing day this past weekend my local library was yarn bombed! we had a great time adding some color to the outdoor garden, especially since the lilacs have gone. folks of all ages learned to knit or crochet and hung their small piece on a bench, statue, tree, chair, or garbage can! it was the perfect sunny summer day to be outside crafting.

even the fairy house at the library got in on the yarn bombing fun! the fairies are dancing about, so they must have enjoyed it.
